Students assisted volunteers from the Salvos to load a truck full of donations last Friday.
Major Cathryn Williamson from the Cowra Salvation Army said the students’ contributions will help those in need this Christmas and beyond.
“This will go a long way to helping top up what we already have from the hampers that the community’s already put together,” she said.
“We thank Cowra Public for their support year after year.
“They continue to do this food drive and we are able to use all that they give us to provide for families at Christmas, and if we have any left over, then it goes to our stuff during the year and then over the New Year break.”
Albert Murray from Cowra Public School said the students did a tremendous job this year and teaches them about community engagement.
“It gets students into that giving nature,” he said.
The primary class with the most donations was Ms Uren’s Yarraman U2, while Mrs Pulling’s class Gilaa 1P had the most donations for infants classes.
