In the lead up to last Sunday morning’s racing a number of Cowra triathletes had raced the Mudgee Interclub and the Forbes Triathlon, which was held just seven days ago.
Those who did saw the benefits of the increased fitness making big inroads into the times they recorded at the Cowra club’s first race day.
Best of the day was Amanda Sullivan with a massive four minute personal best. despite having a flat tyre. This suggests there is still plenty left in the tank for the club’s next race day in January.
The full results are as follows:
Novice course - Ella Kilby 11.33, Jock Casey 13.57, Tom Casey 14.26, Lawson Wood 14.36, Lorissa Wood 15.14 (PB), Harry Kilby 17.15.
One Lap Course – Rory Sullivan 17.27, Kate Price 17.32 (PB), Laura Price 18.23 (PB), Darrell Makin 24.14.
Four Lap Course - Michael Stallard 52.35 PB), John Sullivan 59.19, Mark Fisher 59.52 (PB), Jimmy Rayner 60.19 (PB), David Porter 63.49 (PB) and Joe Sullivan 63.49 (PB), Team Dickson 66.54, Amanda Sullivan 74.23 (PB) and Linda Jonkers 83.20.
The Cowra Club will race again on Sunday, January 20, 2019.
After a lean few seasons the club decided to change it’s race day to Sunday and only race on a monthly basis with races to start at 9am.
January’s race will give athletes another good hit out before the next round of the Central West InterClub series which is being hosted by the Bathurst Wallabies on Australia Day.
Cowra welcomes newcomers, especially anyone looking to git fitter in the New Year.
There are courses to cater for all fitness levels and all ages.
The Kids Course is a swim across the pool, a ride of about 800 metres within River Park and a run, once around the Little A’s track.
A Beginners Course is a 50 metre swim a 2km bike ride and an 800 metre run.
The one lap course is a 100 metre swim a 4.5km bike ride and a 1km run.
