President Mr Bill Murphy was pleased to announce the award on the night.
“This prestigious award is presented to Rotarians who have demonstrated a shared purpose with the educational and humanitarian objective of the Rotary Foundation and is named after one of Rotary’s founders,” Mr Murphy said.
George joined Cowra Rotary in April 1952 and has continued to attend and support Cowra Rotary for the 66 years that have followed.
George has been described as a quiet, reliable member of the Cowra Club and has assisted on many community projects over the years and held board positions over his time in Rotary.
Cowra Rotary hears from Cathy Treasure

Cathy organises the highly successful Parkes Elvis Festival held in January each year.
Cathy’s talk was most interesting and Parkes is sure to have a few more potential visitors inspired by the night.
Members joined in the fun with singing and a visit from Elvis and Marilyn aka Harry and Mandy Howard, for the evening.
