A four year, $4 million program, the grants are designed to aid clubs in the purchase of Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), which delivers a shock to a patient suffering from a cardiac arrest.
Ms Cooke said the item was crucial for sporting clubs in her electorate.

“It's critical that our local sport and recreation facilities are equipped with this life-saving equipment and I urge local sports organisations to apply for funding in the current round,” she said.
Organisations from Cowra are allocated into Zone Two for the program’s funding, which means they can apply for a 50 per cent rebate on their defibrillator, maxing out at $1300.
Applications are not due until May.
Since the Government announced the program last year, $985,000 has been provided to help fund more than 780 defibrillators.
The Sport Minister, Stuart Ayres, added that the devices were a crucial inclusion at local sporting clubs.
"Early access to a defibrillator can significantly increase a person's chances of survival in the event of a cardiac arrest," Mr Ayres said.
