Helen Bryant and Don Capps drew the singles game. Helen was expecting to keep her wits together, but today for no particular reason, her game flowed. On the other hand, Don seemed to be at the other end of the scale, and couldn’t get anything to go right. Their final score was 26-6 to Helen, who doubts the same will happen next time they meet.
Jan Trengove and Heather Edwards drew to play Gwen Bush and Ana Kusetic. Jan and Heather were on the ball straight away and got off to really good start holding their lead the whole game with some good tactical moves. Gwen and Ana were not so fortunate and struggled to get off hoop one. Their strategies for scoring hoops also missed their marks, and at the end of the game had scored 11 hoops to Jan and Heather’s 26.
The third game was played between Katrine Capps on the singles side with Chris Palazzi and Netta Noack playing the doubles game. It was an unusual game with Katrine getting a number of hoops to her credit while Chris and Netta dithered and missed shots. They caught up a bit when Chris scored a break of four hoops, however fortunes changed again and after several challenges and missed hoops from both sides, Katrine held her own and went on to win with 26 hoops to 17.

Netta Noack and Heather Edwards were the only two arrivals. Their singles game turned out to be quite a social occasion with more chat than play, although Heather did peg out with 26 to Netta’s 12. They said they enjoyed the give and take of the challenge though.

Chris Palazzi and Netta Noack teamed up again to play Heather Edward and Alison Muggridge. They started the game thinking it was a repeat of Saturday’s effort – a lot of trying and not getting anywhere. Alison and Heather’s teamwork was working well as the game started and progressed, but they felt it deserted them and the quote for their game was ’woeful’. Chris and Netta had a mix of good and bad croquet but at ‘time’ the score was 14 – 9 for Heather and Alison.
