Ms Kelly’s latest novel, “Lady Bird and the Fox”, is described as “a gold rush tale that takes a wild ride through the Central West, from Lithgow to Wellington and just about everywhere in between”.
“The story doesn’t quite get into Cowra but Cowra does get two mentions in the story," Ms Kelly said.
She said the book continues her passion for writing about Australian history.
“I am very much inspired by the landscape of Australia, especially the landscapes of NSW, the histories of our towns and how we’ve changed and evolved over time.”
The novel follows the story of Annie Bird, a mixed race woman looking for her grandfather and Jeremy Fox, a gambler who has been kicked out by his Jewish father.
