Staff member Sean Darling said the fundraising was was originally just going to be staff members but discussions amongst themselves had brought the residents on board.
“Kelly Cramp came up with the idea,” he said.
“We raise money for a lot of causes and he thought that was another idea we could do, so he brought it to me and and I said yep, lets go for it.”
Mr Darling thanked all the residents and staff that had been taking part in the fundraising.
“It’s been a lot of fun. It’s a way for the residents to feel happy and give back to the community, while raising awareness for men’s health,” he said.
“It also gives the residents another talking point and something for them to look forward to like our theme days.”
The Bilyara team will hold their shave off in early December with a a barbecue lunch for the residents.
They also held a special Movember theme day, with residents enjoying mustache cupcakes and stick on mustaches for the residents.
Mr Darling said staff and residents were looking forward to next year’s with excitement.
“Next year will be even bigger, we’ll be looking to get some of the ladies involved,” he said.
“I didn’t know this but the ladies can get involved by walking or jogging to meet a target each day.”
