The St Raphael’s Parents and Friends Association’s Christmas Fair is a major fundraiser, with funds raised used to assist the school with the purchase of equipment and resources for the children.
In recent years we have funded large shade shelters, air conditioners in the classrooms, gym mats, climbing spider web, monkey bars, early learning toys, a special speaker system for students with learning difficulties, a sandpit, smart boards for each classroom, and Outward Bound excursion financial support.
Over the past two year the focus of the parents and friends association has been the resurfacing and renovation of the kindergarten to Year 2 playground, now complete.
The focus is now on the primary playground area with the projected completion date May 2019.
The Christmas Fair brings family fun and community spirit to Cowra, with carnival rides, games, face painting, jumping castles and stalls.
This year a festive food wheel will feature with a selection of seafood vouchers, turkey vouchers, hams, and fruit and vegetable hampers up for grabs.
Each year group from kindergarten to Year 6 will be hosting a stall, with loads of prizes from wheelbarrows to lottery trees and fun for everyone. Secondary students will be retailing show bags filled with treats. Hot food and drinks will be available.
Some big highlights on the night include, a visit from the jolly fellow in the big red suit at 6.30pm with the opportunity for photographs for a coin donation.
The live auction of a craftsman built cubby house or canine kennel. Plus the draw of our major raffle Where in the World? The first and only prize a $5000 travel voucher with Helloworld Cowra, limited tickets sold, only 1500.
Carnival rides will be located in the church car park, all other stalls, food and attractions will be on the kindergarten to Year 6 playgrounds.
