This has involved small groups of two or three students choosing a notable to study and present.
The notable could come from any place in time, from past to present day.
Students have been focused on researching their triumphs, stories and history.
Presentations have included visual posters with scrapbooking and elaborate headings.
Technology has been widely used by all students.
They have used Prezi and Powerpoint on laptops and iPads to create dynamic interactive displays.
The students have presented all information to their parents in a ‘WHO AM I’ style of presentation.
After this, all students manned their stall in the hall, allowing all parents and other students and teachers to witness the dazzling life stories of these special notables.
There were even giveaways such as book marks, food samples, scratchies, lucky dips and colouring in competitions.
Today we have met and brought to life people like Kieran Perkins, George Washington, Princess Di, Michael Jordan, Ben Chifley, Rosa Parks and Greg Inglis to name a few.
A Day Of Notables was born when the Stage 3 teachers could see a need for students to increase their general knowledge and wisdom about famous people and events.
What a way to immerse ourselves in new and fantastic information.
