The official exhibition opening of the upstART regional youth art event presented by the Cowra Regional Art Gallery will take place on Saturday, November 24 from 2.30pm.

Special guest to open the exhibition is Cr Bill West, Mayor, Cowra Shire Council.
The 2018 upstART exhibition includes an impressive showcase of painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, mixed media and sculpture by over 80 students in Years 10, 11 and 12 from nine high schools in the region.
The participating schools are Boorowa Central School, Cowra High School, Dubbo School of Distance Education, Hennessy Catholic College, Kinross Wolaroi School, Molong Central School, Parkes High School and St Raphael’s Catholic School.
UpstART is presented with the tremendous assistance of the art teachers from the participating schools.
It is also supported by Eckersley’s Art and Craft and many local businesses and community groups.
These are Webster Optometrists, the Vineyard Motel, Yellow House Cowra 131 PIZZA, the Friends of the Gallery, the Cowra Art Group and private donor Mrs Margaret Henley from Cowra.
The 2018 upstART awards judge is Meredith Brice, independent curator, art educator and artist. The winners of the different award categories will be announced at the exhibition opening.
UpstART is a must-see exhibition celebrating the achievements and creativity of the young artists from the region, and a unique opportunity to display their artwork in a leading public gallery to reach audiences.
Admission is free and the exhibition will run from November 25 to December 9.
