Mr Brown presented the annual report at the CCC annual general meeting on Tuesday, November 13.
Mr Brown said the Chest, which has been in operation for the past 15 years, has had a successful 2018.
“I have pleasure in presenting to members and the Cowra community, the 15th annual report of Cowra Community Chest lnc,” Mr Brown said.
“The past year was strong and active for CCC.”
Mr Brown highlighted the monthly CCC, which combined with the Gem and Collectors Club operated Cowra Monthly Markets in June, as a major fundraiser for the Chest.
“Most notably was the continued success of the monthly Community Markets,” Mr Brown said.
“The funds raised and the promotion of the work of CCC is a credit to the efforts of members and volunteers.
“The markets are now a well-established and managed Cowra attraction strongly supported by the community.”
The markets are held on the third Saturday of each month at the Cowra Showground Pavilion.
Mr Brown said fundraising efforts remain strong.
“As a result the funds raised by CCC on an annual basis from raffles, money boxes, race meeting entries, markets and donations remain strong,” he said.
“I also sincerely do acknowledge the generous financial support from the many private donors, community organisations and businesses.
“Thank you.”
He said the Chest has continued to help Cowra residents.
“CCC continued to be active in providing financial support to those Cowra residents in need of financial health support,” he said.
“Since our inception we have assisted more than 220 people in need.”
Mr Brown said the Committee resolved to better promote the services available from Cowra Community Chest to the community in 2018.
“This action has resulted in a greater awareness and response from those needing help,” he said.
“I publicly acknowledge the continued valued support of the Management Committee, Assessment Panel, members and volunteers during the year.
“The positive acceptance of CCC is pleasing as we continue our mission in caring for those in need in the coming year.”
