Cowra resident, Catherine Gorham, 27, has been selected to join 240 young leaders from around the world in the unique and prestigious youth development program, The Ship for World Youth Leaders Program, operated by the Cabinet Office of the Government of Japan.

Following a competitive selection process, Catherine was selected to represent Australia based on her contribution to youth education and leadership potential in her rural community.
The Ship for World Youth is a young leaders training program funded by the Government of Japan, aimed at enhancing participants' international outlook and fostering a spirit of international co-operation through the establishment of strong human networks.
By equipping youth from around the world with skills in communication, leadership and management, it is intended that they may use these skills for positive change and social justice and to become leaders in their own communities upon the completion of this program.
Taking place on the Nippon Maru cruise ship, the Australian delegation will travel to Japan on January 15, 2019 to embark on a six-week journey where participants will live and study alongside each other while discussing global issues and participating in multi-cultural exchange activities.
The delegation will travel to Japan, Solomon Islands, Palau as well as two Australian ports: Darwin and Brisbane.
They will be joined by delegates from Chile, Ecuador, Greece, Solomon Islands, Sweden, Tanzania, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Vanuatu and Japan.
Ship for World Youth Australia President and Delegation National Leader, Mr. Regan Ashley is pleased to have Catherine on board.

Catherine is delighted to be participating in the program.
