This year the Poppy Appeal in New South Wales is a fundraising appeal conducted by the Trustee for RSL Welfare and Benevolent Institution (RSL WBI trading as RSL DefenceCare), which is engaging the assistance of many RSL NSW volunteers in the lead up to Remembrance Day.
Funds raised from this activity will be used to support Australian veterans and their families in need.
RSL NSW has voluntarily suspended all of their own fundraising activities while they address regulatory compliance.
On Sunday afternoon the Cowra Breakout Association has organised for bagpipers to take part in a ceremony playing The Battle’s O’er at the Australian Peace Bell from 5pm.
Any further information on Sunday morning’s service can be obtained by contacting the Cowra RSL sub-branch Secretary Felicity Jess on (02) 6342 3540.
