She set herself a goal – raise $1000 to send to the Burrumbuttock Hay Runners by selling chocolates at school.
With the help of teachers and her classmates, Kate reached her goal and will be sending a cheque for a grand to the charity.
Kate, who lived on a farm when she was young, said she picked chocolates because of the popularity of the treat.
“I knew everyone would buy chocolate and I knew that the SRC Mini Fair was coming up,” she said at the time.
“The other students like it, they love it to be honest.”
Kate’s teacher, Mrs Baratto, said the school is incredibly proud of Kate’s efforts.
“Thank you to the infants and primary SRCs who helped Kate reach this awesome total,” she said.
