A full roster of wrestlers, referees, commentators and other supporting staff will be arriving in Cowra during the week to set up and prepare for a huge night of action on Saturday, November 3.
Performers will be travelling from all over the country to take part in what is a highlight of many of their calendars.
“The whole ICW Central West crew look forward to this event all year,’’ says Lanham.
“For many this is one of the biggest shows and most passionate crowds they wrestle in front of, every year we get a hero`s welcome and the support from the local community is increasing with each show.”
On the night Lanham will provide live commentary alongside Dennis Thompson and all-around bad guy Rob Mezzenger before heading backstage at intermission to prepare for two of the toughest battles of his career.
“I totally admit wrestling two matches on one night with all the injuries I`m carrying is ambitious, but Western Warfare is one of those nights where you throw caution to the wind and leave it all in the ring,’’ explains Lanham.
“After last year`s Western Warfare I didn`t totally recover until maybe February this year and now have a bad case of sciatica but that`s the sacrifice we all make for the fans.
“The audience have been generous and gracious enough to commit their time and money to support us as well as let us be part of their lives by leaving them entertained, inspired and empowered so we owe it to them to give them a show they`ll never forget,” Lanham said.
Sadly, there is a chance there will be a bigger gap than usual between Western Warfare`s 4 and 5 as Lanham said.
“It`s not certain yet but there is a good chance I will need both my wrists operated on next year, which due to recovery time will rule me out of the ring and promotional work for a few months’’.
“If I do need the surgeries Western Warfare 5 may end up being put off until 2020 which makes Western Warfare 4 even more of a must-see event.”
Western Warfare 4 will be headlined by an ICW Central West championship bout between defending champion Rex and High Octane.
Earlier in the evening High Octane will look to even the score with his student turned bitter rival Addicus Slain.
During a promotional appearance at the Cowra Show Cootamundra`s Slain interrupted a speech by High Octane.
After an intense physical altercation Slain laid Octane out with his ‘’Big Z’’ knee strike before storming off all the while claiming that this was ‘’nothing personal, just business’’.
Also, on the event will be a match for the Alan Lanham memorial trophy between ‘’Birdman’’ Phil Picasso and Nick Maltino, a triple threat match between TV star Niki Nitro, Nyx Jade and Bindi Valentine as well as local boy Barry ‘’the Swooper’’ Blake taking on the veteran Mike Kelly.
There will be all this and much more at this huge event which also features Super Crimson Mask, Dan Archer, Adrian Axton, Alex Irvine, Vinnie Bronson, Tank, John Crossfire as well as many more wrestlers. Referees for the night will be Jessica Hitchens (who recently refereed on an event featuring WWE superstar Milena) and veteran wrestler Devious Dave! As always card subject to change.
This year the event is not only being recorded for release on DVD but will be filmed for a documentary about High Octane so be sure to turn up and be as loud as possible.
Tickets are available at SportsPower Cowra up until around midday on the day of the event.
Pre-purchased tickets are $15 each or 4 for $50.
If still available tickets on the night are $15 (no group discount, under 5s free, cash sales only).
