The afternoon featured an artist floor talk with Mr Wedd, who is one of Australia’s most renowned, contemporary ceramists.
The exhibition features Wedd’s hand-built and wheel-thrown ceramics, including pots, cups, jars that brim with a dry wit and shifts from the humorous to darkly disturbing, referencing pop culture or featuring political and social commentary.
Mr Wedd spoke about his early life in South Australia, where he was exposed to pottery at a young age by his mother, who took up the medium as a hobby.
From here, Mr Webb began to create jewellery and had a keen interest in surfing.
Working for Mambo until 2006, Wedd designed and created designs for ceramics, textile posters, clothing, metalwork and surfboards.
He was also part of the JamFactory, a famous set of studios in Adelaide and undertook formal training at the University of South Australia before co-founding the Jamboree Workshop in 1990.
He now lives and works on the coast south of Adelaide.
The exhibition was officially opened by Grace Cochrane AM.
The exhibition will run from October 14 to November 18, 2018.
