A 27-year-old Bathurst man has been fined $1000, disqualified from driving for nine months and ordered to have an interlock device installed on his car for a minimum of 24 months at Cowra Local Court.

Ronald Steven Wallace of Wilkins Street, Mitchell, who did not appear before the court, was charged with middle range PCA.
According to the police facts, around 2.30am on Saturday, March 10, police were patrolling Lachlan Valley Way when they saw Wallace’s vehicle driving south.
Police conducted a random breath test which gave a positive reading.
When asked if he had been drinking, Wallace, who holds a P2 licence, said “I had a few after the funeral but then I had a sleep. They rang me to give them a lift”.
Wallace was placed under arrest or the purpose of a secondary breath analysis at Cowra Police Station, where he gave a positive reading of 0.084 grams of alcohol in 210L of breath.

In sentencing, Magistrate Abdul-Karim noted Wallace had a history of light offences and his reading was “just into the mid-range”.
“There was nothing in the manner of driving which brought on police attention,” he said.
