Marlee Langfield and Emma Boland have put their hands up for this year’s competition.
Learn a little bit more about the nominees below:
Marlee Langfield
Age: 23
Occupation: Farmer, “Wallaringa” Cowra
Why would you like to be Cowra Showgirl 2018?
Participation in the Cowra Showgirl competition would provide me with the opportunity to be an ambassador, to not just citizens of Cowra, also the Central West and beyond, and a positive future influencer encouraging leadership in the community, agricultural learning and personal development.
Skills and experiences gained from my involvement would best enable me to give back to a community that has shaped me as an individual.
I believe communities need creative, innovative and courageous young people who can connect, collaborate and act.
Youth may only be 20 per cent of the population but we are 100 per cent of the future.
I will be an active Showgirl in helping grow and foster the next generation of leaders and community spirit.
Emma Boland
Age: 24
Occupation: Merchandise Sales at Lachlan Fertilizers Rural
Why would you like to be Cowra Showgirl 2018?
Being Cowra Showgirl has always been a goal of mine.
I have competed at the show for many years and have many fond memories, and I believe by being Showgirl, I can give back to the show.
I also believe that I, as Showgirl, could focus on increasing awareness of the show movement and Australian agriculture.
By encouraging schools and young people to get involved, our show has a bright future.
The Cowra Show is an integral part of the Cowra community, and by being Showgirl, I believe I can represent both Cowra and the show, as well as enhancing and strengthening the show and our local community.
