That`s because his ICW Central West pro-wrestling extravaganza Western Warfare 4 is just around the corner, just like James and his bag of flyers!
“’It`s a lot of work but it`s more than worth it’’, says James, who on Saturday November 3 will face ICW Central West champion Rex for the title in the main event of the big show at Cowra Civic Centre.
“Everyone on our roster looks forward to the shows in Cowra all year, they all get a hero`s welcome and let me tell you they, like me, are deeply appreciative’,” James said.
“Unlike other sports, forms of entertainment or even other more adult-oriented wrestling companies, we pride ourselves on catering to everyone possible and putting on a show similar to a circus in that there`s something for everyone and people of all ages can enjoy it.
“While there will be plenty of intense, adrenaline pumping action and jaw dropping stunts that may make you gasp, there is nothing over the top or offensive and the atmosphere is friendly and non-menacing.
“We`ve made a conscious effort to keep these events alcohol free and the ticket prices affordable so literally anyone can come and have a good time.”
Despite the high cost of running such an event, tickets for this event are only $15 each or groups of 4 for $50 if pre-purchased now at Sports Power Cowra.
If still available tickets at the door will be $15 (no group discount). Cash only for all ticket sales and under 5s are free.
‘’We have an even more star-studded line-up this year, with wrestlers from all around the country with varying styles, experience levels, training backgrounds, sizes and personas being on the card,’’ James said.
“The three events to this point have all been incredible and the crowds have gotten bigger each year, so we hope to outdo ourselves again this year’’.
Joining the ICW Central West crew for his first ever wrestling match is local celebrity, High Octane`s student and Cowra Magpies reserve grade player Barry “the Swooper’’ Blake who will have his work cut out for him against Canberra`s veteran villain Mike Kelly.
“Barry has been training hard and developing the needed skills very quickly,” says James.
“’He too has been working hard promoting the event so it`ll be good for everyone to come out and support us local wrestlers, as well as the rest of the crew’’.
Joining James, Barry and the other wrestling superstars are Cowra favourite “Birdman’’ Phil Picasso, actress (from the hit show Houso`s) and top female wrestler Niki Nitro, Nyx Jade, Bindi Valentine, Alex Irvine, Adrian Axton, “Vanilla Killer’’ Ryan Miller, Super Crimson Mask and many, many more.
Doors open at 5:30pm for a 6pm start. There will be a chance to meet the wrestlers after the event and RDA Cowra will be running the canteen.
