The two clubs, which both played in ACT Rugby’s first division and South Coast Monaro competitions in 2018 respectively, will join the likes of Harden, Grenfell, West Wyalong and Canowindra in the GrainCorp Cup Southern Division next year.
The moves comes a couple of years after Cootamundra and Temora shifted from Southern Inland to link with Central West too, with the Yabbies and Goldies now set to come up against the Tri-Colours and Tuskers next season.
Boorowa president Justin Fleming said, via a release, that his Goldies are looking forward to joining the competition, making it clear it wasn’t an impulse decision.
“Considerable thought was given to this decision as it was not taken lightly,” he said.
“Detail was discussed very thoroughly with views to stay and views to go expressed very well.
“The fact that it was so thoroughly considered gives me great confidence in our decision and the committee is now very excited to make the move a great success.”
Boorowa ran seventh in last year’s South Coast Monaro second division competition, as did the Yabbies in ACT’s first division, where they faced the likes of Gungahlin, Queanbeyan and Tuggeranong.
