On Saturday, September 1, at the Gundagai Showgrounds, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove attended the 7th Light Horse Troop Gundagai parade and commemorative service, as guests of Mr Richard Erkelens, Vice-President, Gundagai RSL.

Travealy Horsedrawn Carriages had the great honour of providing a horse drawn carriage for the special guests as part of the parade and commemorative service.
Robert and Brenton Traves wore the Uniform of the Australian Light Horse for this prestigious event.
The historical World War I event, the Battle of Mont St Quentin, France, was reenacted on the day.
The battle plan having been drawn up by Australian General Sir John Monash, saw Australian Troops cross the Somme River and attack Mont Saint Quentin.
In three days of fighting, the under strength Australian’s captured the Mount, along with 2600 prisoners.
General Henry Rawlinson described the Battle of Mont St Quentin, “as the most outstanding achievement of the War.”
