The stage is set for the Cowra Musical and Dramatic Society’s (M&D) production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which opens this Saturday, September 15.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is the M&D’s first musical since 2015’s highly successful production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and producer Lawrance Ryan, who also plays the part of Grandpa Potts, is sure that it will be a hit with local audiences.
The part of Caractacus Potts will be played by Simon Cato. Simon will be joined on stage by M&D newcomer McKenzie Tarrant as Truly Scrumptious, Phil Curtis at Lord Scrumptious, Carl Erle and Kerrie Bailey as Baron and Baroness Bomburst, Chris Larkin as the Toymaker and Jenny Thompson as the villainous Child Catcher.
The role of Jeremy will be shared by Braydon Curtis and Riley Pearse. Phillipa Richmond and Niamh Webster will share the part of Jemima in alternate performances. The show is being directed by Robyn Ryan.
The show opens on Saturday with a matinee at 1pm, followed by an evening show at 7pm.
Further performances are scheduled for Sunday, September 16 at 2pm, Wednesday, September 19 at 7pm, Friday, September 21 at 8pm, Saturday, September 22 at 1pm and 7pm, and Sunday, September 23 at 2pm.
Ticket prices are $25 for adults, $20 concession and $15 for students under 16. A special family ticket is available at a cost of $65 for two adults and two children under 16.
Tickets can be purchased from the Cowra Civic Centre box office between 10am and 2pm. They will also be available at the Civic Centre, from one hour before the start of each performance.
Tickets can also be pre-booked by text to 0497 388 827 and collected at the box office before the show.
