Based on the much loved children’s book by James Bond author Ian Fleming and made famous by the 1968 film starring Dick Van Dyke, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang tells the story of eccentric inventor Caractacus Potts, who transforms a wrecked racing car into a magical flying machine for his children Jeremy and Jemima. Their adventures combined with some of the most memorable songs ever written for the stage are sure to make Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Cowra’s theatrical hit of 2018.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is the M&D’s first musical since 2015’s highly successful production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and producer Lawrance Ryan, who also plays the part of Grandpa Potts is sure that it will be a hit with local audiences.
“We have been rehearsing since April, and the cast and crew can’t wait to bring this much-loved story to the Cowra stage for the first time,” Lawrance said.
The part of Caractacus Potts will be played by Simon Cato, who first appeared with the M&D in last year’s production of The Vicar of Dibley.
