Veteran golfer aces the 14th hole

The Veterans Golf event played on Thursday, June 7 at Cowra Golf Club was a 9 hole stableford event on holes 10 to 18.  

Some of the holes were on challenging locations on the sloping greens adding to the number of putts taken.

This did not present a challenge on the 14th Hole for Terry Winwood-Smith who achieved a hole in one.

Terry said that this is his first, hole in one, in 36 years playing competition golf.  The reward is not only the satisfaction of the achievement, but a $1000 prize awarded by Morgan Insurance.

There were 26 starters for the event and 9 prize winners listed in Stableford Points order, and handicap for this event in brackets. The event was won by Jeff Macpherson with 19 Points.

All the prize winners will have their 18 hole handicap reduced by 3 for the next event.

Players who scored less than 17 Stableford Points for the 9 holes played (and are not a prize winner) will have their 18 hole handicap increased by 2 for the next event.
