Mitch Shepherd, who has been a tradesman for more than two decades, has started Mitch Shepherd Plastering and says there’s no job too big or too small.
“I’ll be doing anything from houses to a small hole in the wall, cornicing, suspended ceilings, fancy plaster work, old plaster cornice work, virtually just anything,” he said.
“So people can call me whether it’s a small hole in the wall or a whole house.”
Mitch spent almost twenty years at Cowra Plaster Works, holding the Lead Foreman position for the past 12 years.
He said after a successful career with the business, he wanted to branch out on his own.
“I worked there since I was 16,” he said.
“I just thought it was a good time, and it’s something I’ve always wanted to do but I thought it was the right time now.”
And he won’t be alone in his new business venture, hiring Toby Downing to help him out.
Toby also has a number of years’ experience in plastering.
Mitch said he’s looking forward to getting down to business.
“It’s exciting, really exciting, it’s a fresh, new opportunity,” he said.
“I’m keen to get to work.”
