The organising committee is now putting out a last minute call to contributors to include information on their group’s activities over the last thirty years, so that they can be a part of this important record of our local history.
“Over 150 community groups, art and cultural groups, sporting organisations and individuals were approached last year to take part in the Cowra History Book,” said Chair of the organising committee, Cr Bruce Miller.
“While we’re very pleased with the response to date, we want to ensure all areas of our community are included and urge those that were asked to contribute to make contact with a member of the committee as soon as possible.
The committee appreciate how busy volunteers for local sporting and community groups can be, so please let us know of any assistance we can provide to make sure your group or Club is included,” Cr Miller continued.
The Cowra History Book will provide a history of the Cowra Shire covering the years 1988 to 2018 and will be published in both print and electronic format. It is hoped the book will be launched at the end of 2018.
In 2017, Council resolved to form a Committee to oversee the development of the Cowra History Book. The Committee is made up of Cr Bruce Miller (Chair), Cr Ruth Fagan, Paul Devery (General Manager), Lawrance Ryan (Grants and Executive Projects Officer), Emma Millward (Public Relations Officer), Sandra Chambers and Marc McLeish.
