The Teams competing were Aqua Therapy 1, 2 & 3, Cowra U3A 1 & 2, Cowra Senior Citizens, Cowra Croquet Club, Heart Support Group, Cowra Singers and J’s an Co.
Lisa Robertson from Cowra Shire Council was a wonderful quiz presenter, even though some of her questions had us scratching our heads.
The afternoon got underway with a bracket of songs from the Cowra Singers and after four rounds of questions on General Knowledge, Australian Geography, Literature and Music and Australiana, Aqua Therapy Team 1 were in the lead.
Norm Palazzi entertained us with some poetry and lucky door prizes were distributed before we all enjoyed scones, fresh from the oven, with jam and cream and tea and coffee generously donated by the Cowra Bowling Club. A couple of picture quizzes kept everyone busy whilst enjoying their afternoon tea.
After the next four rounds on Politics, Sport, Entertainment and General Knowledge Aqua Therapy 1 was victorious with a score of 64 points for the Trivia questions. Cowra Croquet Club came second with a score of 55 and Cowra Singers were third with a score of 54. The Wooden Spoon went to Cowra U3A 2 who scored 31.
We thank everyone who attended and made it such an enjoyable afternoon. A big thank you to Lisa Robertson and to the Cowra Bowling Club for their wonderful support and also to all the Cowra Senior Citizens and U3A members who helped to make the day happen.
There are plenty more events to enjoy as part of Cowra’s Senior Festival 2018 and we intend to live up to the theme of ‘Do More Together’.
