Cowra High School students were given a boost to their job prospects on Thursday, March 15, thanks to a visit from Kristen Casey and the NSW Business Chamber’s Skillsroad Show.

Ms Casey said the road show was about getting students ready for the world of work and the careers that are right for them.
“We are talking to the students about resumes, what to do when applying for jobs and identifying the right job for them,” she said.
“The best piece of advice I can give to students is to take all work experience opportunities available to them.
“Even if it’s not their dream career, what they learn from their first job will teach them a whole host of new skills they can use late down the line.
“All across NSW kids are either very sure about what they want to do or very unsure and the best thing I can do is show them as many options and pathways available to them, be it university TAFE, apprenticeships or traineeships.”
The Skillsroad Show will be travelling for the next two years, with Bathurst and Mudgee next on the list.
