Pokoney was named Canberra’s five-eight on Tuesday afternoon, and will aim to steer his side to victory over the Manly Sea Eagles in round six action at HE Laybutt Sporting Complex at Blacktown on Saturday.
The Raiders have started the season winless, dropping three of the four opening matches by eight points or less and were thumped by ladder leaders Penrith 38-12.
Pokoney has demanded the number six jumper with a string of strong performances since being injected from the bench in the round two loss to Penrith.
He missed out on any action in round one after being named 18th man.
Pokoney joins the Raiders camp for training each Wednesday and Friday.
The nine-round competition wraps up on Sunday, April 8.
The top eight qualifies for the semi-finals.
