At the next meeting of the Cowra Evening Branch of CWA on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, the guest speaker will be Mrs Lucky Sherpa, the Ambassador for Nepal which is the guest nation for the 2018 Festival of International Understanding.

As well, Millie Casey, one of 13 Festival Youth Ambassadors, will be addressing the Meeting. Millie is a Year 11 student at Cowra High School and is being sponsored by the Cowra Evening Branch. All of the Ambassadors are raising funds to support a project in Nepal.
The project is REED Nepal and the funds will be sent via the Australian Himalayan Foundation to build schools in Nepal and to rebuild those damaged by earthquakes.

The Cowra Evening Branch meets on the second Wednesday each month at the Cowra Services Club at 6.30 for 7pm.
In April the Guest Speaker will be artist Ada Clarke, in May Christine Niven from Boorowa will be speaking about fashion, jewellery and accessories, and in June the speaker will be the 2018 keynote speaker, Siobhan Casey, a mining engineer working in coal in the Hunter Valley.
Siobhan, better known as Bonnie, is a former Cowra girl and the daughter of Geoffrey and Rowena Casey. Bonnie will be speaking about mining in Australia today.
