Last year Roz, her team and other Bathurst Melanoma Marchers helped raise $13,000 worth of the $868,000 raised nationally for melanoma research.

The funds they raised were directly injected into 'Big Data for Melanoma', a project that will transform the way melanoma patients are treated through the mapping and tracking of care by means of a national register.

The group will begin fundraising on Saturday, February 24 with a barbecue outside of Woolworths Cowra.

Roslyn was first diagnosed with melanoma in 2013 not long after the birth of her second son, Rhys. The mole on her back that changed during pregnancy was removed with a wide excision and Roslyn was given the all clear.

Fast forward to August 2015, Roslyn developed a small lump on her lower back and following misdiagnosis and many tests, she was diagnosed with Stage IV melanoma. It had spread to her lymph nodes, bones and liver, as well as the original tumour in her back.

In April 2016 Roslyn commenced a clinical trial under Dr Alex Menzies at Melanoma Institute Australia. Twelve months later she had a complete response to treatment with no evidence of active cancer.

The 2018 Bathurst Melanoma March, will be held on Sunday, March 25 at Bicentennial Park, Bathurst, with registrations open from 9:00am and the official walk beginning at approximately 10:30am.

Participants in the March will start at Bicentennial Park and complete a loop of the walking course on the walking path and track around the Macquarie River.

The course is an easy walking course, suitable for people with prams, young children, adults and even the pet dog with a sausage sizzle and give-aways for participants at the end.
