RAAF aircrew will conduct training in the vicinity of Cowra, Wagga, and Tocumwal on Wednesday, February 21, before travelling on to Victoria and Tasmania.
On Thursday, February 22, aircrew will conduct flying training in the vicinity of Cooma and Merimbula before returning to Victoria.
Aircrew will conduct training in the vicinity of Coonamble, East Quambone, Gwabegar, Wee Waa, Pilliga and Moree, before returning to RAAF Base Amberley on Friday, February 23.
The majority of the flying training will be in remote areas and down to an altitude of 90 metres.
Where possible, the C-17A crew will avoid flying over built-up areas.
Flying in these areas provides the opportunity to plan and conduct missions in an unfamiliar environment under close supervision of instructors.
These missions often require aircraft to operate day and night, at low level, and in areas that are not often exposed to Australian Defence Force aircraft.
RAAF appreciates the support of local communities when conducting this training.
