The nine-year-old gelding of 31 starts lines up in the Schweppes Evening Star (1100m) worth $80,000.
Cowra jockey Adam Hyeronimus, now based at Sydney, has the ride from barrier seven in the 10-horse race.
Trainer Andrew Molloy said it took some time for his team to find a suitable race following Zarhron’s fourth straight Japan Cowra Cup win on January 21.
The Evening Star is a benchmark 80 and is restricted to horses aged five-years-old and above.
“We looked long and hard. This was the only one where we could get him reasonably weighted,” Andrew Molloy said.
“It’s a race we’ve been waiting awhile for. Especially it being for five-year-old’s and over. It takes away the up and coming horses aiming for the Autumn carnival.”
Gun bush jockey Mathew Cahill did have the ride but was pre-booked to race at Albury.
Molloy expects Hyeronimus to give “110 per cent”, the popular metropolitan hoop was given his first ride by Molloy several years ago.
“He’s a top rider,” Molloy said.
This will be Zarhron’s fourth start this campaign.
“He’s been trouble free since he got in the stable,” Molloy added.
Racing tonight at Canterbury Park starts from 6.15pm with the Evening Star set for a 9.15pm jump.
