The recipient for 2018 is Caitlin Silk of Young, who is studying Occupational Therapy through Charles Sturt University.
Awarded every year, this medical education grant is open to anyone in their second year or above of studying any medical allied course.
The ladies of the Branch, go through the applications (anonymously) and award the grant on a combination of needs and merit.
Over the years, it has been awarded to a variety of students studying courses such as midwifery, general nursing, speech therapy, physiotherapy, nutrition, paramedics and medicine.
This month's meeting of the Cowra Branch of the CWA will be held next Thursday, February 15 at the council’s multipurpose room commencing at 11am.
