Vodafone Australia, together with the Federal Member for Riverina, Michael McCormack, last week announced the addition of four new sites near the townships of Gooloogong, Koorawatha and Billimari, further expanding Vodafone’s 4G mobile services in the Central West.
In conjunction with Vodafone’s Mobile Black Spot Program sites in nearby Noonbinna and Eugowra, and Vodafone’s existing 4G footprint in the Central West, the new sites provide customers with continuous 4G mobile coverage along roads between Forbes and Cargo for the first time.
The new sites were completed under the federal government’s Mobile Black Spot Program and provide a combined total of more than 900 square kilometres of additional coverage, with approximately 132 kilometres of coverage added along major transport routes.
Vodafone Regional Manager, Rhys Morgan, said Vodafone’s new sites near Gooloogong, Koorawatha and Billimari are the latest steps in the company’s network investment to support the ever-increasing demand for mobile services in New South Wales.
“We continue to demonstrate Vodafone’s commitment to the communities in the NSW Central West,” said Mr Morgan.
“Our investment of more than $10 million in the region over the last three years has provided our customers with improved mobile coverage, as well as more choice and value.”
Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, Minister for Defence Personnel and Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Centenary of ANZAC, Michael McCormack, said that more than ever people are looking to mobile communications to stay connected in all aspects of their daily lives.
“With the additional sites, Vodafone customers living in and travelling through the NSW Central West will now benefit from enhanced coverage and network performance,” said Mr McCormack. “The new sites near Gooloogong, Koorawatha and Billimari are great examples of Vodafone’s continued push to expand and improve regional communications across Australia.
