A Cowra man escaped conviction with the help of a diagram while representing himself at Cowra Local Court on Wednesday.
The 76-year-old, charged with driving on a path, rather than handing up any documents to the court, used a diagram to help explain the circumstances surrounding the offence on October 9.
Facts say his vehicle entered the path and drove south on Lachlan Street for about 30m before entering the left lane near the Kendal Street intersection.
He was stopped and charged.
It was the morning after the Bathurst 1000 and traffic was congested, the man said while holding the diagram.
