Played at Twigg Oval, a fourth-wicket partnership between Craig Carpenter (50) and Brendan Traves (46) piloted the visitors to a two-wicket victory, Matt Beaton hitting the winning run with one ball remaining.
Canowindra successfully chased Valleys’ innings of 152 all out in the 38th over.
Carpenter and Traves combined for a hugely important 98-runs to lift Canowindra from 3-31 to 4-128 after 32 overs.
Traves was run out for 46 and Carpenter departed soon after off the bowling of Sam McNaught, sparking a late collapse with Canowindra losing four wickets for 12 runs.
Nick Traves (10 not out) and Matt Beaton (3 not out) survived the onslaught from Vallyes’ bowlers to secure Canowindra’s second victory of the season.
Earlier, Valleys similarly were charging towards to a score of 200 plus when poised at 3-122 with 10 overs remaining.
Opener Kane Schofield (34), Jacob McNaught (35) and Greg Garlick (39) all made strong contributions, however when they were removed Valleys slipped from 3-122 to all out for 152.
Brendan Traves (2-39) and Peter Guthrie (5-19) combined to remove Valleys’ middle and lower order and restrict the hosts’ total to a total Canowindra would successfully chase.
In the round’s other match, Nick Berry led Bowling Club to a two-wicket victory against Cambridge Cats, the match also being decided in the final over.
Berry (72 not out) opened the batting and anchored his side’s successful run chase, reeling in Cats’ innings of 8-143.
He had support from Chris Day (22) and Matt Crawley (10).
Colts bowlers worked tirelessly with Shane Jones (3-43) the pick of the bowlers.
Earlier, Zac Bayliss (30), Grant Dunn (21), Shane Jones (15) and Billy Porter (42) all made valuable runs for Cats.
Chris Howarth picked up four late wickets to finish with figures 4-9 off three overs. Berry was also impressive with the ball finishing with 1-11 from seven overs.
