Twenty20 Matt Morrison Memorial Shield headlines weekend’s action

Six games in one day will begin this season's edition of the Twenty20 Matt Morrison Memorial Shield.

Double headers are scheduled to take place at Twigg Oval, Oliver Oval and Macpherson Oval this Saturday, pitting together Canowindra, Bowling Club, Morongla, Valleys, Grenfell and Lachlan Cowboys in rounds one and two.

Round three will unfold next Saturday before another double header on January 14 will decide who qualifies for the decider on January 20.

Games begin at 1pm with the second round from 4pm.

Round eight of the Lachlan Premier Competition is set for Saturday with games in Cowra and Parkes.

Valleys hosts Canowindra at Holman Oval, while Bowling Club's on the road and will play Cambridge Cats.

All teams will be chasing valuable competition points ahead of next week’s final round of the year, before the season breaks for Christmas.

Saturday’s match at Parkes is a top of the table encounter between Cats and Bowling Club.
