Good behavior bonds
A 28-year-old Cowra man has received good behavior bonds for possession of a prohibited drug and driving while his licence was expired.
Brook McKeown told the court that he was remorseful of his action and that they had happened during a difficult period in his life.
According to police facts around 3.15 am on Friday, September 22 police were patrolling McGrath Street in Bathurst when they observed McKeown.
As police approached the vehicle it moved on prompting police to stop the vehicle. During the police stop McKeown produced a provisional licence that expired in August 2015.
McKeown appeared nervous, shuffling and ignoring police instructions to keep is hands out of his pockets. When asked why he and his passengers were driving McKeown told police he was, “just looking for a friend”.
McKeown was searched, a small clear resealable plastic bag was found on him containing a white crystal like substance.
McKeown’s solicitor Clive Hill told the court his client had, “an unfortunate history that put him at loggerheads with police, council and others”.
