The Ladbrokes Brad Hill Billy at Stud Stakes Final (400m) is one of a number of competitive and high-quality races set to be contested under lights on Friday.
Brad Hill Billy, who ran second in the Golden Easter Egg at Wentowrth Park in the past, has been the standout dog from the Raymond Smith kennels at Forbes.
The heats were contested last week and Tony Taro was one of the more impressive qualifiers.
his chances in the final have been boosted more by the fact he drew box two for the final.
The Graeme Smith-trained runner heads into the final with three wins and a second from his past five starts.
Paul Braddon is a trainer used to success at the Dubbo track and he will be a contender again in the final with Ferrero Miss jumping from box five.
Ferrero Miss is a classy performer and has been enjoying a consistent run of form of late.
She won through to the final after running third in her heat and will jump from box five in the $1500-to-the-winner event.
Patrick Lorimer’s Hoppy Keeping and the Mervyn Townsend-trained Action Kid are the other heat winners set to line up from boxes three and six respectively.
There will also be plenty of focus on the R Slapp and Co Canvas Works Stakes (516m), as Flacons Fury continues his comeback from a stint on the sidelines.
One of the stars of the Braddon kennels at Cowra, Falcons Fury returned to the track for the first time in five months in recent weeks but finished a disappointing seventh Goulburn.
He will jump from box one at Dubbo and is favoured to return to top form.
The big danger to Falcons Fury appears to be kennelmate Little Cindy, a bitch who is expected to improve on a last-start fourth at Dawson Park.
Leading hometown trainer Charmaine Roberts has been in fine form of late and looks every chance of maintaining her winning streak on Friday.
The consistent Rodney Keeping has won or placed in 59 or his 86 career starts and will jump fro box five in the night’s last race, the Blue Meats Masters Stakes (318m), while the promising Give Us Double is expected to be a hot favourite in the Party at the Greyhounds Stakes (318m).
Friday night’s 11-race meeting starts from 7.07pm at Dawson Park.
