After a statewide ban on RSL sub branches selling poppies the Cowra sub branch decided to give away as many poppies as they can this year.
This week sub branch honorary secretary Felicity Jess has been visiting businesses where the free poppies will be available.
Anyone wishing to show their support for the RSL can pick up a free poppy from the Cowra Guardian, Cowra Shire, Dominos and the town’s two chemists.
The Remembrance service commences at 10.57am on Saturday with participants asked to assemble no later than 10.50am by forming up in front of the Cenotaph.
A short service will commence at 11am after the parade has assembled and the Last Post has been sounded.
One minutes silence and the ODE of Remembrance will then follow.
A light morning tea for RSL sub branch members and guests will be held following the service.
