After the success of last year’s Western Warfare II extravaganza, it was inevitable local promoter and wrestler James “High Octane” Lanham would bring another show to the town of Cowra.
However, James is very happy to be able to do so much sooner than last time.
“I’m over the moon to be able to do this again so soon,” says James. “The near four year gap between Western Warfare’s I and II was very frustrating for not only the wrestlers and myself but also the loyal fan base in Cowra and the Central West.”
The reigning ICW Central West champion thanked the people within ICW, especially founder and president Nicholas “Rex” Gray.
“I also want to extend my sincerest gratitude to Cowra Council for the support they’ve provided to us, both financially and in terms of providing a great venue and staff that are so easy to deal with,” James said.
He described Marc McLeish’s and Lawrence Ryan’s support as “invaluable”.
“It was also very cool to have the mayor Bill West open the show last year as well as present me with the ICW Central West Championship belt.”
James said the fans response to last year’s edition left him with no option other than to promote a third installment.
“This kind of passionate response and genuine interest in what we do makes it all worth it and it’s why we keep coming back,” he said.
James has been working tirelessly on organising the match card and says that matches will be announced closer to the event.
He has let us in on some of the names that will be appearing at Western Warfare III including “Rex”, “Super Crimson Mask”, “Rob Mezzenger”, “Birdman”, Phil Picasso and more to be named.
James “High Octante” will be both commentating and wrestling, defending his ICW Central West Championship against an unconfirmed opponent.
ICW Central West is welcoming any sponsorship or support from local businesses, with Cowra Council and LFE Cowra Breakout already on board.
Pre-sale tickets are $12 and can be purchased at the LFE Cowra Breakout’s new op-shop on Kendal Street.
The show will start from 6pm on October 21. Children under five get in for free. ICW prides itself on promoting family friendly events.
There will be a free meet and greet with the wrestlers and other personalities, merchandise will be for sale and a canteen will be operating.
