At the last meeting of Council, Cowra Mayor, Councillor Bill West said they had not heard from the State Government since the announcement that the levy would be shelved.
“It’s quite poor governance. We’ve heard nothing,” Cr West said.
Councillor Peter Wright said it would be “business as usual” for the three branches of emergency services.
The new levy was set to come into effect on July 1 to replace the Emergency Services Levy on insurance policies.
The levy has been shelved indefinitely.
