The launch event held in Gooloogong, Sunday, June 4 provided local farmers and community members an opportunity to come together and find out what Active Farmers is all about, plus enjoy a delicious breakfast organised by Delta Ag and Grenfell Bring Healthy Back Initiative.
Active Farmers General Manager Ginny Stevens, said she was extremely excited with success of the event.
“I couldn't be happier with the efforts of Tory and everyone who helped out and came along. I believe Tory is providing a great service to her community and is really making a difference to the physical and mental health of all involved. I encourage the Gooloogong community to get involved,” Ginny said.
Active Farmers, a joint venture with Delta Agribusiness, aims to provide a service that helps improve not only physical health, but also mental health and Tory’s group fitness classes provide an opportunity for farmers and the local community to come together, socialise, work on their fitness and naturally improve their mental health.
Local dairy farmer, Jill Smith was one of the instigators behind expanding Active Farmers from Cowra to Gooloogong.
“It was a great morning and we are really happy that Tory has brought Active Farmers to Gooloogong. Having a service come out to us is a big benefit for the community,” she said.
Tory was very happy with how the morning went and is excited to have added the Gooloogong service to her existing service in Cowra.
"The weather really turned it on for us on Sunday – the turnout was great and there was such a positive vibe throughout the morning,” she said.
“I think the Gooloogong crew all left the park feeling that had accomplished something.”
