The 23rd annual Cowra tennis teams tournament was held in glorious weather on the weekend of May 27 and 28 with 22 teams participating.

Canberra teams took out most of the honors over the weekend.
A grade men winners were Canberra (Graham Smith) with 25 points.
Runners up Bathurst (Stewart Palmer) 24 points, South Camden (David Scotney) also 24 points, but finished third on a count back.
B grade men winners were Canberra Calypsos (Colin Lyons) 50 points, this team did not lose a set all weekend.
Runners up were Canberra (John Chapman) 29 points.
A grade ladies winners were Canberra (Betty Smith) 30 points having won on a count back from Pam's Girls (30 points) as Canberra beat Pam's Girls in the first round.
Third place went to Pace Makers (Julie Pratt) 20 points from Sydney.
B grade winners were Orange Ex Services (Chrissie Kjoller) with 38 points.
Runners up were Hit ‘n’ Misses (Canberra) Lynette Sebbens 31 points.
Brindie Girls (Canberra) Sandra Roughten 31 points (lost on count back).

Everyone played lots of tennis over the weekend and it was played in the correct spirit of the game.
A huge thank you to Cowra tennis club committee members who worked tirelessly before the tournament preparing the courts, surrounds and food and getting sponsors banners and flags.
The canteen ladies and helpers did a great job over the weekend keeping the players fed.
Thanks to the many sponsors that supported the tournament, it was greatly appreciated and went a long way in making the tournament a huge success.
