The entry forms have gone out for the Cowra Art Group’s Lachlan Valley Biennial Art Exhibition set for October 14 to 29 in the Cowra Regional Art Gallery, entries to be returned by the September 29.

The major prize is the Barbara Bennett Memorial Award of $1,000 for the most outstanding work. There are other Awards for Painting; Drawing/Printmaking; Watercolour, Pastel or Mixed Media; and Miniatures.
Entries are limited to artists within 100km from Cowra – in a direct line, so there will be entries from Bathurst and Orange to Boorowa, Young and Parkes.
Our artists have the exhibition on their minds, as well as preparing for the Art section of the Cowra Show.
The annual exhibition of the beautiful creations from the Cowra Art Group “Breakout” Quilters is currently on at the Japanese Gardens Cultural Centre. A gold coin will give you entry to the display which will remain on view for the month of June.
The craft ladies had a successful Open Day for Mother’s Day with many visitors calling in, and members are busy as usual creating baby jumpers and beanies for needy kids. They are also enjoying experimenting with unusual crochet patterns.
The spinners have hand-spun yarns available and some lovely warm articles made from them, and are attending some outside workshops to further their skills.
Our next Morning Tea will be a new venture with proposed car pooling to D’elice in Canowindra on Wednesday, June 28 after our next general meeting.
