Greg Nicholls from Cowra and Grace Kelly from Quandialla have received Summer Volunteering Sporting Spirit Awards from NSW Sports and Recreation for cricket and swimming respectively.
A special ceremony was held on Saturday afternoon, with Member for Cootamundra, the Hon. Katrina Hodgkinson presenting Greg and Grace their awards.
“Greg thank you for keeping Western Regional Cricket going, I know how hard you work in cricket and everyone says you are the biggest champion and the hardest working when it comes to coaching and to encouraging people to get involved in cricket,” Ms Hodgkinson said.
“You’ve really taken the bull by the horns Grace and have helped a generation learn to swim.
“I don’t know how many lives you've probably saved by doing this.”
Both Greg and Grace received a $250 voucher to go towards their sports thanks to Sports and Recreation NSW.
