CINC General Manager, Fran Stead, said the lunch showed the diversity of Cowra’s community.
“Harmony day is probably my favorite day at CINC,” she said.
“When you look around this room you see we have that diversity here and that is what CINC tries to achieve each and every day, we take pride in creating a place we can all come and sit as equal.
“The orange that we are wearing today is the colour of harmony. It signifies social connection and meaningful conversations, that is the whole point of today we are equal.”
Fran said she hoped the message of harmony would be passed on to all members of the community.
“Someone told me last week that I couldn’t save the world and that stung,” she said.
We aren’t trying to save the world, we are trying to create a place of equality, where we can all belong.

“We aren’t trying to save the world we are trying to create a place of equality, where we can all belong and that’s the meaning of harmony.
“We all belong, equality is a very core passion of mine I live it, I breath it and I hope I can instill it in my four children.
“No one in our community or anyone here today has the right to judge anyone based on the colour of their skin, their religion, their sexual preference, it should definitely not be based on money or your physical or mental capabilities.
“That’s what I hope I can bring to CINC and our team strive for that each and everyday.
“That’s all I ask, everybody just love a little more and have a little bit more compassion, we’re not going to change the world but we’ll make Cowra a better place to live,” she said.
Fran thanked Mayor Bill West, Councilors Judi Smith and Ray Walsh and all who attended and made the lunch such a success.
“A special thanks to Marion, who does an amazing job of coordinating these events, to the staff, volunteers, board members, play group mums, peoplewho come into the centre and have all contributed to the food we’re about to eat thank you”.
