At last count the Mobil team had managed to raise just under $2500.
Mobil manager Kellie Johnstone said the almost all the staff participated in shaving or colouring their hair.
“It was granny’s idea, it’s a good cause and why not it’s just hair it grows back,” she said.
“Granny had shaved before but no one else had participated, so we decided to make a group.
“Most of the employees participated, it was really good, Mark Hudson came from Bathurst with his rally car, our local snake catcher, our security guard and my partner who’s also our maintenance man all shaved their heads, thanks to Nat Crutch”.
Kellie said she was now thinking of growing her hair back and donating it to make wigs.
“I’m thinking about regrowing and donating it when I do the next shave,” she said.
“There’s a 50 per cent chance we’ll do it again next year, we’ll see how fast my hair grows.
It needs to be 30cm and not dyed, I don’t know if I could not dye my hair but we’ll see how we go”.
