An elderly man has been charged following a single vehicle accident which resulted in the death of one his passengers in Koorawatha last year.

According to police, about 12.40pm on Monday, September 12, 2016, a 72-year-old man was driving a Toyota Landcruiser north on the Olympic Highway at Koorawatha, with his 71-year-old wife seated in the rear, and an 82-year-old man seated in the front.
Police will allege the driver lost control and left the road before crashing into a tree on the approach to Koorawatha from the direction of Young.
The 82-year-old front seat passenger suffered serious injuries as a result of the accident.
He was taken to Cowra Hospital before being airlifted to Westmead Hospital in Sydney where he later died.
On Wednesday, February 15, 2017, officers from the Crash Investigation Unit charged the 72-year-old man with dangerous driving causing death, and negligent driving causing death.
He is due to face Young Local Court on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.
